Period Delay

Period delay is when medication is used to safely postpone a menstrual period for a short time. It’s often chosen for occasions such as holidays, weddings, sporting events, or other times when having a period would be inconvenient. The most common treatment is a prescription-only tablet called norethisterone, which works by keeping hormone levels steady and delaying your period until you stop taking it. Once the tablets are stopped, your period will usually return within a few days.
